What Chhavi is looking for
I want to own a product end-to-end from the first user conversation to the moment something ships and actually gets used. My best days are when I'm talking to users in the morning, unblocking engineers at noon, and seeing adoption metrics move by evening. I don't want to manage a roadmap nobody reads. I want to be in a small, fast team where I can take a problem, make the call, and see it matter without needing sign-off at every step. The day I lose track of time is when I'm deep in a user flow, figuring out why something isn't clicking and redesigning it until it does.
Why Chhavi is exploring
I've spent 5+ years going deep first as a Site Reliability Engineer at Amex maintaining 99.9% uptime on systems serving millions of transactions, then transitioning into product at Amex and now at Saturn building an AI-powered financial advisory suite. I've loved the journey, but I'm now craving something earlier-stage. I want to be in a room where the product strategy is still being written, not inherited. I want to work with founders, not just report to a VP. I'm ready to move faster and take more ownership than any large org will let me.
What won't fit on a resume
I won Best Colleague Experience at VHack 2020 not for the idea, but for rallying a cross-functional team that had never worked together before. I built an AR/VR proof of concept that got showcased at Grace Hopper Conference 2019. I mentored 2 winning teams at the Amex Makathon across 2021–2024, which taught me more about how to shape a product vision quickly than anything else I've done. I started as an SRE and taught myself enough about product thinking to make the leap without a formal MBA or a lateral hire I just kept shipping things and making myself useful until the role changed. That instinct to find the problem and solve it without waiting to be asked is probably the most honest thing about how I work.
