What Chimpiri is looking for
I want to be the person who takes an AI-powered product from a “cool demo” to something real users depend on. Not just building features someone else specified, but owning architecture decisions, talking to users when something breaks, and shipping fixes the same day. Day to day, I want to be writing code, but also speaking with customers, deciding what to build next, and seeing it actually ship. A small team of about 5 to 10 engineers. Enough senior people to learn from, and enough junior people that I am contributing meaningfully. The kind of place where I can build a RAG pipeline on Monday, refactor the frontend on Tuesday, and talk to a customer on Wednesday without anyone questioning whether that is my role. What makes me lose track of time is building complex interfaces that make hard data easy to understand. Document pipelines, annotation tools, AI agent interfaces. I can go deep on these and not notice four hours passing.
Why Chimpiri is exploring
Three years at the same company. I’ve shipped real things, including a RAG platform that landed an RBI contract, a financial OCR system, and an ML pipeline editor. But I have mostly been optimizing within a defined lane rather than building something that could grow into a full product. The honest version is that enterprise software companies tend to move slowly and are not always working on the most interesting problems. I have been doing AI platform work before most teams even had an AI strategy. I do not want to spend the next three years proving that gradually within one organization. I want to be somewhere that is already built around that idea. My non-negotiables are clarity on why we are building what we are building, since random pivots without reasoning drain my energy quickly. I also need psychological safety to be real and practiced, not just something mentioned in an all-hands presentation.
What won't fit on a resume
I built Reft from scratch, a full document intelligence platform with a visual pipeline editor, async Celery workers for PDF splitting and OCR, VLM-based extraction using Mistral and Gemini, and structured financial data output, all containerized with Docker Compose. I did not follow a tutorial. I decided I wanted strong opinions across the full stack and kept building until I had them. I also built Personal Brain OS, a file-based personal operating system with 12 interconnected modules, including a contact CRM, decision and failure memory, a content pipeline, email and calendar automation, and an AI-controlled browser. I did not use any off-the-shelf framework. The goal was not to ship a product, but to understand exactly how I want AI agents to augment how I work rather than replace my thinking. I now have clear and specific answers to that question.
