What David is looking for
I would love to work in a fully remote, modern async place of work (e.g GitLab, BaseCamp etc), where I can still have good impact. I'm a builder, and love to fix big problems quickly. I'm not particularly looking for a management position, I like to get my hands dirty. Ideally, a company that brings positive value to the world is what I love the most. Right now I'm CTO of an Agritech startup, and I enjoy waking up in the morning because I know that my work helps farmers use less fertilizer use while improving their yields. I work with large amount of scientific data which is also bringing a lot of challenges.
Why David is exploring
I’ve been working for the past five years as CTO of a fully remote AgriTech startup (~40 people). While the early days were incredibly exciting, I’ve noticed that the technical focus has diminished significantly since then. It feels like the right time for me to take on a new challenge.
What won't fit on a resume
Lots of things I built over the years, like: - [ludo.team](https://ludo.team): A team-building platform I founded and developed, serving thousands of active users monthly and attracting enterprise clients such as Electronic Arts, Honeywell, and Best Buy. - An open-source utility for calibrating 3D printer beds, still actively used by makers and hobbyists in the community. - An open-source system for managing hydroponic growing towers, enabling users to grow their own food https://github.com/pcboy/hydroponics-controller - A tool I built to help CPAP users track and manage their nightly sleep data https://github.com/pcboy/cpapshare - I contribute to open source frequently. I'm responsible for instance for the VPC connector integration in Google Firebase functions. I'm also a Nixpkgs contributor.
