The story
What Hong is looking for
Before Apple Pay, paying for something meant stopping everything to fish out your wallet, dislodge your card from the vice grip. Now I just lift my phone. Same errand, same destination, freed from the small friction that was felt every single time. That's what excites me. Building products that fit your existing habit and quietly remove that small source of friction. I lose track of time trying to build that through finding an idea, testing it, watching it break, then pulling the best of everything I've seen and Frankensteining it into something new. And of course, the process is always better when done with others who are just as excited as I am about building. That's what I've been building towards with all my experiences and experiments at Google Creative Lab and as a founding designer for a VC backed startup. Harnessing the power of AI to build that one product whose absence the world will feel.
Why Hong is exploring
I've spent the past few years building across a lot of different spaces. From founding a product management program, to designing at Google, to shipping mobile games, and creating content. I'm looking for a role where I can harness all of these abilities in service of building something that actually matters. With people who are just as excited to build as I am, and where I can continue to grow in ways I haven't even thought of yet.
What won't fit on a resume
I founded a product management fellowship at NYU that's now in its third year with 50+ alumni. I've shipped four mobile games with nearly 2K players. I started posting content in January 2026 and hit 200K+ views in 20 posts. I do UGC videos for a small tech startup and my first video hit 18.4K views. All of these were done on my own accord, in my free time. Most recently, I built a website that goes through restaurant reviews to surface the most popular dishes for all the restaurants my girlfriend and I go to!
