The story
What Jack is looking for
It's a role where design isn't a service layer. I'm in the room when the business model gets debated. I'm the first or head designer at a company building something complex (fintech, DeFi, B2B workflows) where the product is the business. I want to own the end-to-end experience: from mapping out the system logic to shipping polished UI, and increasingly, building parts of it myself in code. The best version of this is a small, sharp team where there's no artificial boundary between "design" and "product thinking", where my finance background and my design craft are both load-bearing.

What won't fit on a resume
The thing that's hardest to show on paper is that I actually build. I deploy through GitHub and Vercel, I use Claude Code and Figma MCP servers as real infrastructure, not toys. When I was freelancing for Resolv, I didn't just design a DeFi dashboard, I dug into on-chain data and users by risk profile (airdrop farmers vs. institutional allocators), and helped the team shape design strategy around that. At Qogita I framed compliance documentation as a growth lever, not a checkbox. My MSc is in business, not design: which means when I look at a product, I'm also looking at the business model, the unit economics, the competitive moat. That cross-wiring is hard to put in a Figma file, but it's what makes my design decisions different.
