directing art for a studio that actually cares about craft. i want to be in the room where the visual direction gets decided, pushing concepts, leading a small team through projects that look and move beautifully. ideally a mix of brand campaigns, character animation, and motion design for clients that give creative room. not cranking out templates — actually making things i'd put in my portfolio.
Why Lucas is exploring
i spent 11 years running my own studios in brazil, then 3 years doing art direction for P&G brands at an agency, then led animation at a web3 studio. the web3 chapter ended and now i want to find my long-term home. i'm done building other people's companies from scratch. i want to plug into something great and make it better.
What won't fit on a resume
i've been drawing since i was a kid and animating since before i had clients to animate for. i taught myself frame-by-frame in clip studio and procreate just because i couldn't stop thinking about how characters move. i built two studios from zero in a small city in brazil — no connections, no investors, just cold calls and good work. i also use AI tools daily (claude, firefly, midjourney) not to replace craft but to move faster at the ideation stage. and i'm a new dad, which made me way more efficient and with a fatherly look on every project, they are all my babies
