What Lynn is looking for
I’m at my best when I’m owning a feature end-to-end. I don't want to just ship a component and walk away. I want to understand the system architecture, build the backend, polish the UI, and be the one responsible for its success. I also find a strange zen in bug hunting. There’s a specific satisfaction in unpicking a complex edge case that’s been bothering the team. I lose track of time during collaborative sessions whether that’s pair programming to solve a logic puzzle or mentoring a junior dev through a tricky deployment. My dream role is one where technical ownership and team mentorship carry equal weight.
Why Lynn is exploring
I’ve reached a point where I want my technical labor to align more closely with my civic values. Having transitioned from a career in vocational training and job coaching, I have a deep-seated need to see the human impact of my work. I’m looking for a mission that deserves the level of over engineering and care I put into my systems.
What won't fit on a resume
I tend to go down rabbit holes involving Recommendation as a Service. While most people just want a search bar, I spent my free time building CinemaSoul. It started as a fun way to look at films but evolved into a complex project integrating LLMs and psychological profiling to predict user preferences. It wasn't a requirement. It was an obsession with how we can use tech to understand human taste more deeply. Recently, that rabbit hole has been spatial optimization. When I moved to Philadelphia, I didn't just buy furniture. I treated my 80 inch bedroom span like a systems architecture problem. I spent hours calculating the footprint of a king size bed against modular shelving to maximize every square inch of a basement apartment. What doesn't fit in a Skills section is my history as a Lead Job Coach. That experience taught me how to translate complex requirements for people with diverse learning styles. It’s why I volunteer back at the Ada Developers Academy. I don't just want to write code. I want to build the ladder for the next person coming up behind me.
