What Mridul is looking for
I want to be in a role where I’m building AI products that solve real workflow problems, not just adding AI as a feature because it sounds good. The ideal day-to-day for me is a mix of talking to users, understanding where AI can genuinely reduce effort or improve decision-making, working closely with engineering on product logic and system constraints, and shipping fast enough to learn from real usage. I enjoy being in the middle of user problems, technical feasibility, data, UX, and business impact. What makes me lose track of time is taking an ambiguous workflow and asking: what part of this can be automated, assisted, predicted, summarized, or personalized? I like designing AI-first experiences where the product feels useful, reliable, and simple, even if the systems behind it are complex. I’m especially interested in AI SaaS, productivity tools, workflow automation, inbox/communication intelligence, agents, and platform products where AI is central to the user value. I don’t want to just write requirements for someone else’s roadmap. I want to own the problem, define the AI use case clearly, ship the product, measure whether it actually helps users, and keep improving it.
Why Mridul is exploring
I’m looking because I want to go deeper into AI product management and work on products where AI is not just an add-on, but the core of the experience. In my current role, I’ve already had exposure to this through ZenInbox AI, where I helped take an AI-powered inbox management SaaS from concept to MVP and scale it to 80+ active customers within 3 months of launch. That experience made me realize I enjoy the AI product space a lot: defining the use case, thinking through user trust, reducing manual effort, working with technical constraints, and measuring whether the product actually improves the workflow. Now I want to be in an environment where I can work on more complex AI problems, learn from strong AI/product/engineering teams, and build products that users rely on every day. I’m looking for a role where I can combine my CS background, B2B SaaS experience, technical product ownership, and interest in AI workflows. The honest reason is that I don’t want to stay limited to traditional SaaS product work. I feel AI is where the most interesting product problems are happening right now, and I want to build my career in that direction early.
What won't fit on a resume
The most interesting part of my profile is that I’m not someone who came into product only from frameworks or theory. I’ve always been pulled toward building things, understanding how systems work, and solving problems, even when nobody formally asked me to. I’ve gone deep into the technical side of product because I genuinely enjoy it: APIs, system flows, Postman testing, analytics instrumentation, user journeys, and how small UX or workflow decisions affect activation and retention. I like being the person who can sit with engineering and understand constraints, then sit with users or stakeholders and explain the product decision in plain language. I’ve also learned that I’m strongest in zero-to-one or early-stage environments. I like the messiness before the process exists: defining the first version, finding the real user pain, setting up the roadmap, prioritizing with limited resources, shipping, measuring, and iterating. That’s where I feel most useful. Outside the resume bullets, I’d say I’m curious, slightly obsessive about clarity, and happiest when I’m building something that has a real feedback loop. I don’t just want to manage a product. I want to understand it, shape it, and make it work.
