The story
What Nenye is looking for
Honestly, I would ideally take my chances with a small or large company where the problems are genuinely complex (think FinTech, ConTech e.t.c) and not just making things pretty. a role where i would be working on flows that carry real life consequences like identity, money, security, trust and similar. This role would also give me enough ownership that my instincts actually shape the product, not just execute someone else's vision and would open me up to rooms where design thinking has real influence on product direction. And finally, cares about my growth the way I care about their product and growth.
Why Nenye is exploring
In the past few years of my career, i've spent my time at early stage startups and design studios designing zero-to-one products and that opportunity gave me huge autonomy over the products I worked on. But unfortunately, I've hit a ceiling in terms of the depth of problems I'd like to work on. I'm at a point in my career where I'd love to be designing for products with higher stakes, real constraints and as I answered in the last question, where design has an influence over product direction.
What won't fit on a resume
I spent a few days doing a really deep dive on terminals and how they work then used that knowledge to build an NFC loyalty system for a nail studio. There's more but let's stop here.
