What Sidharth is looking for
I like pulling apart how products actually work, i.e., the data model, the activation flow, the way the business logic maps (or doesn't) to what the company says it does. I'll dig through API schemas, onboarding flows, public filings, whatever's available, until I find the gap nobody's named yet. Then I build something that proves the gap is real. I've done this on my own for Ramp, Cloudflare, Strava, and about eight other companies. Not because anyone asked. Because I couldn't stop. :)
Why Sidharth is exploring
I spent 4 years as a B2B PM in EdTech. I got good at it, but I started worrying I was just pattern matching to one industry. I'm doing a master's at Purdue now because I wanted to test whether my instincts actually travel. So I've been picking companies in fintech, dev tools; places where my resume doesn't help, and doing the work before anyone invites me to. I'm looking for the team that sees that and thinks "we want that energy in the room."
What won't fit on a resume
I built a course planning tool for my grad program because advising was basically "here's a spreadsheet, figure it out." It scores 60+ courses against your target role and spits out a 3-semester plan. 235 students used it, which is more than more than my cohort + the upcoming cohort combined! The thing that actually reminded me of the good work I do: I built an AI interview prep tool for content creators. I was sure the problem was real. User testing told me I was solving the wrong one. I scrapped it and pivoted, but the lesson that stuck was how easily conviction can feel like validation when you haven't tested it yet. I kill ideas much faster now because of that.
