The story
What Sushmita is looking for
small team, real product, real users. i want to be the engineer who ships, not the one writing tickets someone else defined. mostly rust/any appropriate on the backend, full-stack when it's needed (next.js, on-chain when relevant), and ai-native workflows baked into the daily loop - claude code in the build cycle, mcp servers when the product needs an agent surface. i like talking to users and shipping the fix the same day. i still write and teach what i ship (youtube, blogs) but i want my main work to be production code, not pure devrel. remote, async-friendly. i'm in bangladesh and work fine with US/EU teams.
Why Sushmita is exploring
been freelancing + cofounding + doing devrel for a while and i'm ready for a real engineering seat with a team. shipped two things back to back recently (gulfwatch - real-time solana program observability in rust, and raffl.fun - on-chain raffle protocol with anchor + switchboard vrf + next.js) and i want to point that energy at a team's product instead of hackathon submissions. also: the senior solana smart contract roles i was targeting closed for non-us folks, so i'm widening the net to rust + full stack + anywhere real engineering is happening. honestly tired of cold forms - want to be somewhere my work compounds with other people.
What won't fit on a resume
i learn by going down the stack, not by reading docs. wrote solana programs in pinocchio with no anchor or borsh (raw account manipulation - escrow, fundraiser, bonding curve) because i wanted to know what frameworks were hiding. built my own terminal code editor in rust (mewtui, on crates.io) for the same reason - text rendering, event loops, i wanted to understand it bottom-up. on a helius wallet-history latency challenge i got busy wallets from 262s to 80s with a 4-phase parallel pipeline (sparse vs busy classification, density-chunked gap fill, paginated parallel fetch, full balance curve). cofounded kronos guild and built the solana campus tour to onboard developers in non-us regions. just launched a rust youtube channel (@MeowyTheDev) because teaching forces my own code to get tighter.
