What Taahirah is looking for
I want to own problems end-to-end, not just tickets. The ideal day is a mix of building, thinking, and shipping—designing systems in the morning, implementing them in the afternoon, and seeing real users interact with it by night. I like being close to both the product and the user, not buried under layers of process. I work best in small, fast-moving teams where ideas turn into production quickly. I enjoy figuring things out from scratch—whether that’s designing APIs, building AI systems, or experimenting with new workflows—and I lose track of time when I’m deep in that loop of build → test → iterate. I don’t want to just execute. I want to contribute to what gets built and why.
Why Taahirah is exploring
I’m at a point where I care more about growth and impact than just “getting experience.” A lot of early roles optimize for structure and safety, but I’m looking for the opposite—more ownership, faster iteration, and harder problems. I don’t want to spend the next year maintaining systems I didn’t design or working on features that don’t move the needle. I want to be in an environment where I’m pushed technically and where what I build actually matters to the business or users.
What won't fit on a resume
Most of my real learning has come from things I built outside of class or work. I’ve been building local AI assistants (like Ada and Jonas) that learn from user feedback using lightweight reinforcement loops—basically experimenting with human-in-the-loop systems before it’s a buzzword. I’ve also built tools like an interview assistant that listens to questions and generates real-time answers, and a networking tool (WarmGraph) to map relationships and surface high-value connections. I tend to go down rabbit holes—whether that’s optimizing local LLM performance on low-resource machines, building terminal-based IDEs in Rust, or experimenting with unconventional UI ideas like retro OS-style interfaces. A lot of what I build starts as curiosity and turns into something real. That’s where I do my best work.
