What Tanmay is looking for
I want to own a product where I can be an applied researcher guy that is allowed to go deep and implement latest research papers from top conferences but also interact with customers to see what is actually worth it to put in production. So I’m running long experiments on a huge gpu cluster and using my experimental results to make small POCs that product engineers/seed can develop more on. But since I’m also talking to customers my pocs will be close to something they’d want to use. Like how ramp started ramp labs and built a simple demo for steering vectors
Why Tanmay is exploring
I’m huge in to AI safety and I do independent research in that domain. I recently worked on a project that deals with synthetic data generation and how it can be tainted in a way that no current data filtering process can get rid of. I want to build products taking inspiration from my research work and others from ai safety.
What won't fit on a resume
I’m a big coffee nerd and I log my brewing experiments with different coffee beans in a notion table with stuff like beans roast type, origin, water temp, grinder type, brewing method, grinder setting, bloom time, number of pours, weight of water at each step and then I trained a random forest model on this to get brewing recipe for a particular bean type. The model still needs a lot of data to be more accurate but it’s a fun thing I’m into
