What Ziyi is looking for
Fast iteration, open to new ideas, and close to the problem. I like taking messy, undefined problems and turning them into something real. Talking to users, mapping the system, then quickly prototyping so we can align on behavior, not just screens. Best setup is a small team where design and engineering work closely, we ship fast, and I can own things end to end.
Why Ziyi is exploring
I’ve learned a lot working on complex internal systems, especially around data and workflows. But the work has become more incremental and less connected to impact. There aren’t clear metrics or feedback loops, so it’s hard to see how decisions translate into outcomes. I’m also finding that the organization isn’t fully set up to adopt AI-enabled workflows in a meaningful way yet, so a lot of the work stays exploratory instead of turning into real product changes. I’m looking for a team where experimentation ties back to product impact, and where I can be closer to the problem, move faster, and build things that matter.
What won't fit on a resume
I spend a lot of time exploring how AI can actually change workflows, not just as a feature but as a way to rethink how work gets done. At work, I’ve used it to think through how to make product and design more efficient, especially around reducing friction between design and engineering and making ideas more tangible earlier. Outside of work, I like building things based on my own interests. I created a customer-facing troubleshooting app that won an iF Design Award this year, and I’ve been experimenting with tools like a digital archive to extend how I collect and organize visual references. More generally, I’m someone who likes to explore, build, and push ideas further than what’s asked.
