HANDHOLD

AI-agent platform that automates the full inbound B2B software buying journey

What HANDHOLD is building

The standard B2B software buying journey has a structural problem that everyone in it knows about but no one has solved at scale. You land on a company's website, you find the product interesting, and then: a form asking for your work email, a calendar booking for an intro call in three days, a 30-minute call where the first 20 minutes are qualification questions you already answered in the form, and finally 10 minutes of a demo that is not actually personalised to your situation. Then you wait for a follow-up. This process was designed around human attention economics: you need to filter leads before spending sales rep time on them. Handhold's premise is that this economics argument collapses when the qualifier, demo-giver, and onboarding guide can all be the same AI agent running continuously at near-zero marginal cost. Three coordinated AI agents run in sequence. The first agent handles inbound qualification in real time, it engages website visitors, answers product questions, and assesses lead quality without a human rep. The second delivers personalised, voice-driven product demonstrations including live interaction with the actual product interface, at any hour, in over 50 languages. The third guides new users through onboarding, adapting to their goals on the fly. Together they are designed to replace the entire top-of-funnel sales process for B2B software companies selling to SMBs, where the economics of human sales teams per customer have never made sense but where product-led growth alone leaves too many high-intent buyers unconverted.

Why this matters

The angel roster is the product thesis demonstrated by example. Markus Villig built Bolt from a small Estonian startup into a European ride-hailing company serving tens of millions of users across dozens of markets. At that scale, Bolt faces the same problem Handhold solves: how do you give each business partner, driver, and high-value enterprise client a high-touch, personalised relationship when your team cannot possibly cover the volume? Harsh Sinha, CTO of Wise, built one of the most complex financial infrastructure platforms in Europe, where customer trust and personalised onboarding are existential at every stage of the customer lifecycle. Ott Kaukver ran engineering at Twilio during the period when Twilio was defining what developer-first go-to-market looked like. Janer Gorohhov co-founded Veriff, the identity verification company that processes millions of verifications per day and must manage a high-volume enterprise buyer journey simultaneously. All four of these angels have lived the exact conversion and onboarding problem Handhold is solving, at extreme scale, in real companies. When they write personal cheques into a four-person startup, they are not writing a strategic hedge, they are writing the 'I wish this existed when I was building X' cheque. The six-figure ARR from a soft launch in September 2025 to end of year is the commercial validation that gives those angels' conviction a material foundation.

Investors: Entourage Capital (lead, Pieterjan Bouten), Inovia Capital, e2vc, Change Ventures, Angels: Markus Villig (CEO, Bolt), Harsh Sinha (CTO, Wise), Janer Gorohhov (co-founder, Veriff), Ott Kaukver (ex-CTO, Twilio)

Hiring outlook

Very High. Uku Tammet posted directly on LinkedIn asking for a Product Engineer and Frontend Engineer. Georg explicitly links to open roles in the funding announcement post. Actively asking for cold outreach: uku@handhold.io.

Hiring intensity: 8/8

Working at HANDHOLD

Since , HANDHOLD has built AI-agent platform that automates the full inbound B2B software buying journey. The team is now <50 people. For a AI company this size, the reality is broad remit, direct access to founders, and equity that still means something if the company works out.

The majority of roles are in Tallinn, Estonia.

How to actually get hired at HANDHOLD

Why applying the normal way doesn't work

At <50 people, HANDHOLD has no recruiting team. Your application lands with a founder who is also running sales, product and payroll. The obstacle isn't a queue or an ATS, it's being seen at all. Cold outreach outperforms the form here, consistently.

Founding team

GV
Georg Vooglaid
Co-Founder and CEO

Georg is the commercial and strategic half of Handhold, and his career before founding the company is a direct preparation for the problem it solves. He completed a BSc in Business and Managerial Economics at King's College London between 2015 and 2018, giving him the financial and organisational thinking that underlies Handhold's B2B positioning. After graduating he joined Seedcamp's fellowship programme, Seedcamp is one of Europe's most consequential early-stage fund-accelerators, backing companies like Wise, Revolut, Carwow, and UiPath at the very earliest stages. Working inside Seedcamp's portfolio gives direct exposure to the playbooks that the best European startups use to grow, and Georg spent his time there advising and observing founders navigating the exact GTM and conversion challenges Handhold addresses. He then joined MeetFrank, the Estonia-based talent marketplace, as an early employee. He then became Chief of Staff and Head of GTM at Passbase, a Berlin-based identity verification startup, where he led the commercial function and grew the company through a critical scaling period. Passbase operates in the same world as Veriff (whose co-founder Janer Gorohhov later invested in Handhold), meaning Georg understood firsthand how enterprise identity and verification companies manage high-volume inbound buying journeys long before Handhold existed. He then spent time at On Deck, the professional community and fellowship programme, before founding Handhold in 2025 with Uku. His public writing describes the founding insight in personal terms: in past sales roles, he could be present for customers when they had questions, concerns, or expansion opportunities, and Handhold is the automation of that relationship at scale. He was selected for the Top 20 of the Slush 100 Startup Competition and presented on stage at Slush in Helsinki, which is the most visible investor-facing stage in Northern Europe.

UT
Uku Tammet
Co-Founder and CTO

Uku is the engineering half of Handhold, and his prior experience is the reason Handhold's AI agent product actually works in production rather than in demo. He completed a Master of Science in Computer Science at Tallinn University of Technology, TalTech, which is Estonia's primary technical university and has produced a disproportionate number of the engineers who built Skype, Wise, and Pipedrive, three of the most consequential products in European tech history. After TalTech he joined TransferWise (now Wise) as a Full Stack Developer, and over his time at the company rose to Senior Engineering Lead managing the Send squad, one of Wise's core consumer money transfer flows, processing billions of dollars annually and serving tens of millions of customers. That role is technically demanding in a very specific way: payment flows require zero-downtime reliability, strict compliance with financial regulation in multiple jurisdictions, and extremely high-quality real-time interaction under load. Building those systems for years gives Uku an engineering sensitivity to reliability and state management that is directly applicable to Handhold's conversation agent architecture, where a broken flow mid-demo loses the prospect permanently. He and Georg also built Align together before pivoting entirely to Handhold and relaunching as the current product, the decision to throw away existing product and revenue to start fresh is mentioned explicitly in Uku's LinkedIn posts and reflects the clarity of conviction that the Handhold thesis required. His hiring post on LinkedIn is written in a genuinely personal voice: 'We talk to computers all day and it's starting to feel pretty good. This is the most fun I've had building anything, come build it with us.' That is not a boilerplate job post. It is the founder who is also the CTO writing to find someone who will share the technical obsession.

What to show them

The core role Uku described publicly. Handhold's product encompasses the real-time conversation agent, the live product demo interface, the onboarding flow builder, and the analytics that let customers understand buyer intent. A generalist who can own problems across backend, AI orchestration, and product surface is the right profile for a four-person team where the boundaries between engineering and product are fluid. Core skills: TypeScript or Python, LLM integration and agent orchestration, real-time voice/conversation APIs, product analytics and experimentation, ability to own a feature from spec to production independently, familiarity with B2B SaaS product patterns. Proof of work: Build a minimal AI demo agent that can take a short product description, ask two qualifying questions to a simulated prospect, and then produce a personalised 60-second product walkthrough script based on the answers. Share the code with uku@handhold.io. It directly miniatures the core Handhold technical problem and demonstrates both the AI orchestration and the product thinking involved.

A cold email that works at HANDHOLD

Subject: Product Engineer, [your one-line proof]
Hi Uku, I built a minimal demo agent, it takes a product description, asks two qualifying questions, and generates a personalised walkthrough script based on the answers. I ran into a few interesting design questions around what 'personalised' actually means when you only have two data points. Happy to share the code. I'd like to talk about the Product Engineer role.

What HANDHOLD screens for

Uku's LinkedIn post is the clearest hiring signal on this list. He posted directly: "We're looking for two colleagues: Product Engineer: generalist, owns problems end to end. Frontend Engineer: detail-oriented, owns the experience layer. We're mostly in person in Tallinn, open to remote in EU timezones for the right person. We talk to computers all day and it's starting to feel pretty good." That is a founder writing a job post in his own voice. Georg's funding announcement post links directly to open roles. Read the angel roster as a product endorsement, not a financial bet. Markus Villig built Bolt into a continent-scale operation where per-lead human sales was never economically viable. Harsh Sinha, CTO of Wise, scaled inbound financial onboarding across 70+ countries where conversion quality is existential. Ott Kaukver ran engineering at Twilio during the period that defined developer-first, high-velocity inbound GTM for infrastructure products. Janer Gorohhov co-founded Veriff, which manages enterprise identity at scale and has the exact demo-to-onboarding problem Handhold automates. These are "I would have paid for this" cheques, and they come with warm enterprise introductions that cold outreach cannot replicate. A four-person team at six-figure ARR with Bolt and Wise network access now needs to scale the product before a better-funded competitor lands in the same inboxes. The funding announcement links directly to open roles. Cold email is explicitly invited: uku@handhold.io.

Don't make these mistakes

Avoid sending applications without demonstrating an understanding of the B2B sales automation landscape and the specific problems Handhold is solving.

Mistakes that kill HANDHOLD applications

Generic CVs stand out at a <50-person company — and not in a good way. Fastest path to rejection.

Skip 'I'm looking for...' — start with The angel roster is the product thesis demonstrated by example and your specific angle on solving it.

The wait-and-hope strategy fails. Follow up on day five — response rates roughly double.
